It can be really frustrating if your opponents are always hitting high lobs, so here we discuss some padel tactics you can use against this!!
Do YOU often play against lobbers?? What do YOU do against them??
If you play against opponents that are not comfortable with their overheads or come running very close to the net, then this is actually a tactic you could use in your favour. This can be particularly effective outside where the elements come into play or inside if you have high ceilings!

Great advice! I will put my hand up and admit that I am a lobber......that is, I use the lob to attack my opponents, get them away from the net. I look for a slow, ineffective serve - that is going straight back over the server’s partner’s head, as close to the corner as I can get it, or bang on the centre to tempt both to head for the same ball. I don’t like a lobbing war, so look for the bajada opportunity on their first or second lob. If it’s a poor lob, plenty of return from my back wall, they often feel they still have the right to take the net, but a good bajada down the centre often goes through! Addictive game, isn’t it? I played a match this morning, watched this video late evening and I want to get back on court right now (next match in two days!). Beautifully explained throughout, many thanks!

Good video Sandy! You are right, playing against lobbers can be tricky. A good strategy is to aim the ball to their backhand foot. So left foot for right hand players, and vice versa. Backhand lobs are harder to consistently be accurate, giving you a better chance to receive a short lob.
You hit the nail in the head with your commentary on looking at what your opponent is going to do so you can prepare early.

A tactic I usually do vs lobbers is to hit shots that will bounce twice before hitting the back glass , since its a lot harder to hit good lobs before the glass. So I like to hit my bandeja slow and usually in the middle so it’s harder for them to lob cross as-well giving them less margins
