Welcome to Yanjin, China - the narrowest city in the world! This place is AWESOME!
More than 100,000 people call this unique city home, living in high-rise buildings along a narrow strip of land between steep mountains and the polluted brown River. It’s truly mind-blowing to see how Yanjin has adapted to its natural environment, with its residents making the most of every inch of space available. The towering mountains in every direction make it feel as though the city is trapped in a stunning, yet challenging, landscape. In all of my travels, I've never seen anything like this!
Also - this is my first time visiting rural China, and I have to admit, it’s been a refreshing change from the hustle and bustle of massive cities like Beijing or Shanghai. The slower pace, tight-knit community, and the way life carries on here, despite the obvious limitations, have been truly eye-opening.
Mainland China is full of surprises, and Yanjin is just one of the many hidden gems that I've discovered on this 18 day trip. Stay tuned for the next five videos in my China series, where I’ll be uncovering even more fascinating and lesser-known places across this incredible country! Woohoo!
Thanks to @littlechineseeverywhere for coming on this adventure with me! She makes awesome content (in English) around China!

Yanjin is a special place and I kind of felt like I went back to my roots while telling this story. Back to 2017 when I first picked up a video camera.
It’s probably not the most “viral” video I could have made on my China trip, but that’s okay. It is certainly a story that I enjoyed telling, and this city has left a lasting impact on me. And I hope it will for you too!!
The nature, the society, the hospitality, the layout of the land - is all extremely unique and awesome! This is my 6th trip to mainland China, but my first time being away from the big cities on the East Coast. I’m wildly impressed by life out here. Thanks for watching and keep and eye out for the next 5 episodes in my China series!! 🇨🇳🙏

We are fed so much misinformation about China. What a cool country. Thank you for showing us the real people’s stories!

That dude is the reason why I travel. He represents everything about being a good ambassador when a foreigner comes to visit. He not only gave you an exclusive tour around his hometown, even going as far as taking you up high in the mountains, but actually invited you into his house. And to top it off, he's got a beautiful smile too!
We should all strive to be like this individual.

It made me so happy when you first became worried about shooting drone footage when the police went up to you, but then it turned out that they just wanted you to get the good scenic shots of their city and to show off its beauty. People being proud, happy, and appreciative that foreigners and tourists visit their home towns and showing care for their home feels so warm in my heart to see.

In my opinion, the best travel vloggers are those who interact with the locals and find out how they lived. That’s why Yan of Little Chinese Everywhere is my favorite. I’m so happy to see Yan here with you! This is another fantastic piece showing both unique natural surroundings and the people who live in this environment. Bravo 👏 🎉

I love how this guy is hiking the most epic mountain trail while smoking a cigarette and a massive smile on his face. What a lovely little city tucked away in a magical landscape. It’s true the US media doesnt do a good job showing us normal life in this massive incredibly diverse country.

I’m so impressed with how genuinely happy people are, evident by so many smiles. I don’t think I have seen a travel video with a more happy population.
