I disagree, not being able to increase others capacity for abstract thought. I think we can but it stems from being taught when we are young and our minds are in the growth stages. Parenting is essential, teach by example and admit when you are wrong and compliment others when you discover new things they presented you, tell them how that has effected you. That sets the stage for them to carry on more intelligent conversations.
