Most of what’s online is trying to push you somewhere. I’m building a small private community for people who want to understand things without turning it into self-improvement or performance. Приветик из США. I am an American but have many Russian and post-Soviet friends, ages 35-70. I always wondered why they seemed to spend their paychecks immediately, never trusted banks, don’t bother investing, so on. Then I listened to some of their stories and everything made sense. One of them asked me once, why I bothered being friends with someone so different and, often, depressingly serious. I told him, he speaks the truth. Every story was real, honest, unvarnished. It’s a rarity here in the west. Please keep making these videos.

We Westeners have our own misconception about freedom. Thanks for making that point clear. One step to face the truth about our own lifes is listening to podcasts like yours. How many lies have we Westeners been told, when our bosses tried to convince us to do what they want and they called it freedom, responsibility, progress, success, teamwork, efficiency?

Your videos almost always require a minute or so of quiet reflection at the end. Bravo !

Thanks, mate! One of my most hated memories from Russia were people who were PROUD they were intentionally doing nothing at their workplace or stole stuff they didn’t even need from there… They hated anyone who offered improving the efficiency or making it a nicer place to be in.
