Bach BWV 199 BACH & CHAYYAM Bach in dialogue with poems of Omar Khayyam Even if more than 600 years separates the life of John-Sebastien Bach (1685 -1750) and Omar Khayam (1048 -1131), these two genius were made to meet each other. Their visions of the world, as a perfect match of mathematics mastery and a super high level of spirituality, bring these two men in a delightful dialogue and traces a clear path to the sublime. In this program Constantinople brings these two artists into a dialogue, where the sacred and spirituality transcend borders. For this occasion Constantinople proposes arrangements of some of the most beautiful spiritual songs and arias of JS Bach in dialogue with poems of Omar Khayyam, in Persian, set to music by Kiya Tabassian, inspired by Bach's musical material and responding to Bach’s songs. Première at Internationales Bachfest Schaffhausen May 2022. *** Constantinople en concert / Our next concerts: https://linktr.ee/constantinople Constantinople is a non-profit bringing music to life.

"And that inverted Bowl they call the Sky, Whereunder crawling cooped we live and die, Lift not your hands to It for help—for It As impotently moves as you or I" Omar Khayyam This is absolutely refreshing. Love from Iran.

Dear friends. If anything could save this world, it would definitely be music. Especially when it is so encompassing between cultures and times. Your commitment and passion is incredible and so good for the soul. Especially now, in this - almost - hopeless time. Love and peace. And thank you all!
