I made sure I was registered to vote last week so I can vote for Mamdani. I’m a transplant and have only been here for 9 years but nyc is the only home I’ve known as an adult. Mamdani’s policies and vision for the city is what I want for my neighbors and my community.

“It was the loudest damn music you ever heard, but the kids loved it.” THIS right here is the clear signs of a wise and empathetic older man, he may not understand something, but if he sees the youth reveling in it with joy and passion he is for it. ALL OLDER PEOPLE should have open minds like Bernie.

As a Black British Woman from London, this brought a tear to my eye - as it did with many others, it seems. The world feels scarily void of love, compassion and justice, and this conversation provided a much-needed, honest reminder of hope in the abyss of it all. Congratulations Mamdani on your success and thank you Sanders for all you have done!
