Tradition is not a cage; it is a cocoon. In this unique 1-hour jazz session, we explore the explosive moment where ancient Persian rhythm breaks free into modern jazz melody.

This mix is a dialogue between two worlds. To understand the sound, we must understand the history behind the instruments:
The Ney (The Breath): Weaving through the background is the Ney, an end-blown flute made of river reed. Dating back 4,500 years, the Ney is often called the "sound of the human soul." In the poetry of Rumi, the Ney represents the human cut from the reed bed, longing to return to its source. In this jazz mix, the Ney replaces the traditional jazz clarinet, adding a breathy, mystical layer to the music.
The Fusion: Here, the 6/8 time signatures common in Iranian folklore are straightened into a 4/4 jazz swing. The saxophone takes the lead, mimicking the vocal "Tahrir" (ornamental singing) techniques of Persian masters, while the Tombak provides a driving, complex heartbeat that a standard drum kit cannot replicate.
