For anybody wondering about the ID: the very next day, I drove to the Air Force base in Tampa, told them the story, they laughed, took my picture, and sent me on my way…

I live in Florida. I’m a Florida native. I remember once after a hurricane one of our local tourist attractions called the shell factory lost its S from it’s sign so for months it was the hell factory apparently replacing signage after a hurricane was a very low priority for them😂

As a former Army Vet. After my experiences at Fort Benning, I kept a spare shaving razor in my pocket at all times. I also found out my Drill Sgt. was REALLY uncomfortable watching people dry-shave in front of him.

I tried for years to explain to non-Floridians, our level of situational awareness and calm in the event of a bobcat or gator encounter. It’s unhealthy. This dude is spot on. He grew up about 20 minutes from us in Deltona, and with a larger gator to human ratio as there are little ponds every block or so, and people have pools. Oh and gators easily climb fences. As well as those beefy-boi snapping turtles that’ll rip limbs off if you get too close. But nothing prepares you for the skeeters and spiders. I got into a straight sneaker throwing fight with a leviathan that took a hit from my work boot and started running at me where I could hear the pitter patter of his legs as he charged at me. I kid you not, took a family member to stop me from emptying a magazine into the wall to stop this beast. And the mosquitos could be classified as enemy combatants during peak lagoon summer. Fun times in Narnia!

Something to be said about knowing the locations he's describing because it made it all the funnier to me. I grew up on NAS JAX, served reserve time there, AND worked at that Target he's talking about lol
