Wonderful ! The invention of the Oud goes all the way back to phaeronic Egypt and spread through the middle east. It was first brought to europe by the Mohammedan conquest of Spain around 900 a.d. It is the mother of the european lute and spanish guitar. Unlike the guitar it has no frets like any western classical orchestra viol instrument from the violin to the double bass. note: i don't believe it was religion in and of itself that caused the two super powers, the European North and the Arab, etc south to go to war with each other over circa 1000 years. Leaders who seek power and riches twist religion to be a force for war. In the last 100 years it has been the US and west who have been the primary aggressors in the world Whatever creed we follow, or what ethnicity we are, more important is we are all brothers and sisters of the one and only human race. So lets not let our leaders get in between our love for one another. We, especially we Americans just must say no to war and wars for oil.

Portuguese listener here! I must say my arabic roots let my imagination run wild, picturing my country when it was ruled by arabs... such wonderful music. I'm a flamenco player, have played the guitar for 15 years, so I was already heavily influenced by arabic music, but hearing this just vibrates my heart to another level...Allah yibārik fīk

I am a Unitarian Iranian American and love Arabic music. This is one of the most beautiful oud playing I have heard. Thank you.
I also totally agree with the previous writing about world powers trying to divide us by using religion as an instrument in order to keep us busy so they can continue dominating. Love one another and speak up against brutality and brutal and inhuman powers in order to bring true peace for everyone.

I am Colombian and this music sounds like the guitars I grew up listening in my family, all united in music 💖🙏

I am playing this music every morning welcoming my kindergarten students to classroom. The music brings calmness as they enter and play quietly waiting for class to begin. Thank you.

I have visited countless sites on youtube and read their comments, but I have been impressed with the level of writing here, the high sensitivity and knowledge. It really gives me hope in the human being not only to hear this wonderful interpretation but the quality of his followers as well.

There's a nuance in this that you can't get with strict 7 note scales in western music. It sounds like this blends the feelings that come from major and minor keys together in a more unified way. My ears still identify with both, but this is calming in a way that western music seems to miss out on when locked into such rigid rules. But then the harmony between several instruments in western music achieves a different, unique characteristic that this misses out on. I like to think that these same concepts apply to out culture too. Diversity is *key,* to both music and culture.
