About My Videos: The music has been slowed, restructured, and layered with ambience to create a mood-driven, immersive experience distinct from the original works. This rework is intended as a transformative use under fair use principles, not to replace the original. All original compositions are credited, and this video exists out of appreciation for the source material.

One of the best films ever made...it was one of many of peak 90s films from that era.

I emigrated from Dublin, Ireland, in 1987 to NYC, and my employer then handed me the opportunity of a lifetime that would change my life forever. They offered me a position to manage a newly acquired company in 1990 in LA. I was still wet behind the ears but grabbed it with both hands and stayed until 1999. I met my wife to be in late 1992 in LA and we got married in LA in 1996. . She was from NJ and out working in LA as a defense attorney, but like me, she was new to the city, and yes, we met at an Irish bar, as she had Irish blood running back to god knows when. Ha, I told you it would change my life forever moving out to LA. π
As an Irishman living in LA and experiencing the nightlife, the music scene, and, of course, the movies, it was unbelievable, fresh, vibrant, and exciting. It was also a culture shock with all that was going on from 1990, and that was putting it mildly. π±
Music such as NWA and Guns N Roses was all over the airwaves when I first landed in LA, and the nightclubs were bouncing with the best sounds of the 1990s. But my fondest memory of that time was the 5-star movies that they seemed to release every week. My wife and I were and still are huge movie buffs so the 1990's was our happy times, and when we first saw Heat, it blew us away. I snuck back to see it in the theater at least another 2 times (on my own, of course) in the first 2 weeks of its release, and it was simply one of the best and finest movies ever made in the 1990s. Thank you, Michael Mann. Oh, how I miss those times. π₯
I am now 64 years old, and I can't party like I did in my 30s. Ha, ha, but I am healthy and married to the same angel, and we are both happily retired. I have raised 3 children all daughters and 2 of them born in LA in early summer 1997 and spring 1999, 4 grandchildren and I am now living in NJ. I never thought that would happen during my early days in LA and growing up in Dublin, Ireland, but such is life. I miss LA in the 90s, the people, the vibe, and the atmosphere. I had a great time from 1990 until 1999 in LA it changed my path in life, and I would like to take this opportunity to thank the good people of the City of Angels for taking care of me and my wife in my early days. π
" I don't even know what I'm doing anymore. I know life is short, whatever time you get is luck. You want to walk? You walk right now. ... On your own you choose to come with me. And all I know is... all I know is there's no point in me going anywhere anymore if it's going to be alone... without you " β€

I grew up in Los Angeles. We used to go watch the Showtime Lakers play at the Great Western Forum, we'd go to Raiders games, my dad ran in the LA marathon in the 80s. I love this city. It can be brutal and messy, but its also full of life and culture and if you tune in there is love everywhere. Watching it from afar like this with the ambience is a great encapsulation of this city. On the one hand it seems dark and foreboding, and on the other its a gorgeous site, especially if you've ever walked them streets.. Also Heat is one of my favorite films :) great job on this.

Heat being my favorite movie of all time, this def captures the vibe of the movie
I came out of my hotel in L.A. and looked up and down the block, and it looked strangely familiar, even though I don't live there. Then it hit me: It was the street where the crew shot it out with the cops after the bank robbery, ditching the car and covering each other as they bolted! So cool

All great cinema also is a visual love letter to where it was shot. Heat is like that. A love letter to 1990βs Los Angeles.
